Yellowstone Reports Feb 8th 2020, Porcelain Basin and Coyotes.

Another bitterly cold day, with deep lying snow and heavy snow showers throughout the day.

The day started well with an excellent sighting of a pair of Coyotes along the Madison River. In all with us for about 45 minutes and then again on the way back into West Yellowstone in the evening. It looks as though the pair have a den in a rocky outcrop close to the main rd through the park.

Bison were also in the area, ploughing through deep snow and looking thoroughly pissed off in the biting wind.

The afternoon was spent at Porcelain Basin and Back Basin, part of the Norris Geyser Basin, surrounded by Narnia like snow covered woodlands with thermal steam rising amongst the branches.
